Beginner
You enjoy recreational riding and being active in sports. A solid day of road riding might consist of 40-50 km, over 2-3 hours, with up to 500m of climbing. You’ve likely never heard of FTP.
intermediate
You enjoy pushing your limits in cycling and occasionally compete in cycling related events (road, MTB, gravel, triathlon). A solid day or road riding might consist of 80-100km, over 3-4 hours with up to 1000m of climbing. Your FTP is over 3 W/kg.
advanced
You consider yourself a “cyclist” and compete regularly in cycling related events (road, MTB, gravel, triathlon). A solid day of riding might consist of 150km+ over 5+ hours with 1500m+ climbing. Your FTP is over 4 W/kg.
